Here's my first game i have ever created with Game Maker. It's called Treasure Hunt.
[PROJ] Treasure Hunt (my first Game Maker game) TreasureHuntScreenshot
Name: Treasure Hunt
Type: Basic Game
Version: 1.3

It's quite simple. Catch all the coins, and beware of the fireballs. If you get hitted by a fireball, the game restarts. You must obtain all the coins if you wanna go to the next level.
NEW!: The silver locks can only be unlocked if you have the purple key.

DOWNLOAD:
http://files.drdteam.org/index.php/files/get/Vi_1p8QuJ9/treasure-hunt.zip
Includes both the game, and an open source.

Press F1 for more information and upcoming features.

:D Overall it's quite good for a first game.

There is one bug that really annoyed me though: Sometimes I press the move key, but the guy won't move... Cause of this, the fireballs kept killing me...
I hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty to fix it - http://lukas.fromserbia.net/TH.zip :NORMALL: Also this adds diagonal moving. But I didn't touch anything else.

Also I think you should include an .exe file for non-Gamemaker users. Or Gamemaker users who don't have GM8.

The movement bug from the first version makes a comeback :(

Why didn't you use my fix?

Fixed!

BTW: Your script doesn't work. When i add those things you added to the player, an error comes up when i test the game. It says something about a variable.

Probably because I had to change the name of some sprites...

The reason I did that is sometimes scripts get confused when you have an object called "Block" and a sprite called "Block". It is good to add "spr_" before names of sprites and "obj_" before the name of objects.

I always call it "obj_Block" and "spr_Block"

Anyway it's not a big bug, It just makes moving somewhat annoying. Try to examine my copy in detail to see all that I did.

I, well, "cleaned up" your version. Now all objects, sounds, rooms, backgrounds, sprites have prefixes like "obj_", "snd_", "rm_", "bkg_", and "spr_" so scripts can tell the difference between a sprite and an object. Also the movement fix is there too.

I also added sub-groups to sprites. One group for "Player Sprites" a group for "Fireball Sprites", "Item Sprites" etc.

Oh it is much fun :D

You should learn GML (the game maker script language) - it's quite easy, and allows you to make more complicated stuff. It was the first programming language I ever learned, and after it I got interested in comp programming

Btw, same link as before - 1 new map
More coming soon!

It's pretty easy, but for a first game, it's really good.
